I do think that a part of me is
Wise beyond its years
Beyond any years
Beyond ego or fears
Beyond my own interpretations
The part of me
That is beyond frustration
Beyond hesitation
Beyond idealization
I’m not normally one for religion
But there is an ancient wisdom
And She is where the love’s from
This painting
Is about the ancient wisdom that resides in us. Some call it intuition, some call it the soul, but most of us have felt it at one point or the other. There is infinite Wisdom in nature, and as we are all a part of nature, there is infinite Wisdom within us. In Buddhism you can access the wisdom through meditation, in Judaism you can access is through Torah study. I believe that creation is another way to access the wisdom. In creating, we are emulating the Universe and therefore accessing the piece of Her within us.

After I was done painting her, my mom pointed out that she looks a bit like my best friend. My best friend is one of most connected people to a spiritual wisdom that I know — maybe that’s why she subconsciously made it to the canvas.
