“What’s your obsession with the heart?”, I am constantly asked.

The answer is simple: that’s where my art comes from.

Truth be told, I’m terrified to put my literal heart on display. But I’m not the only one with a heart. I’m not the only one who’s experienced grief or rebellion or presence.

I decided I needed to create this collection after visiting Art Basel Miami in December 2025. I was inspired by the art and the careers of the artists I saw; it was the first time I felt like making a career out of my paintings was an option. Some of the art was very powerful to me, some was surprising, but I didn’t see anybody telling the story I wanted to tell. I felt like there was room for what I had to share.

So HeartScapes was born.

Over the next seven months, I created what I consider to be my best work yet. I poured my heart, my soul (and pulled lots of all-nighters) into the creation of the 7-piece HeartScapes series. I was completely lit up by the work. I loved creating them and I loved how my story was being expressed.

Now the hard part. Putting it out there. I think that our inner landscapes as humans are so beautiful. Grief, intensity, and all. I want to share my heart because it needs to be expressed. I hope others will experience this art as an expression of their own hearts as well, and appreciate my HeartScape.
